“At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.”~Plato
I happened upon a wedding today at the Courthouse Square and took a few shots (Yes, 3 PM mid-day sun, contrasty light; maybe not the best technical image). The entire wedding consisted of the couple, the preacher and 4 other people. You could tell that this was more about the ceremony than the party…these two were here for one reason: to marry. I imagined them on a very short budget: no real photographer, the bride’s flowers were artificial, the grooms shoes were well worn. Yet they may be richer than most of us…..I think the pure love between them can be seen here and that cannot be bought with a billionaire’s money. Cliche but true.
As one of my favorite life inspiration poems goes: “Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.” ( Desiderata)
