This is a little bit of a departure from the norm for me: no accompanying quote. I did not want to try and find a quote for this……it stands on its own. I found an image specifically for this post that I hadn’t yet processed , it is my little tribute to what was and what will be once again, although it may take years to regenerate itself to its former state. I had actually planned on hiking here with a friend the week before last and we postponed it until this week, which of course, was not to be.
As you may well have heard, there is a wildfire near Sedona and the Slide Fire is ravaging in and around this particular area right now. This is the West Fork Trail of Oak Creek Canyon and it is a gorgeous oasis of orange canyon walls, lush green in the spring and summer months, vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow in fall and starkly serene in winter. To think of the devastation that is happening to this beautiful area is too heartbreaking so I will just hope that the brave men and women fighting the wildfire can somehow put a stop to it as quickly as possible. Please do the same.
