“They swayed about upon a rocking horse, and thought it Pegasus.”~J Keats

There is a difference between pretending and thinking.

The man who lives here and does woodwork carving  (a bit of it can be seen here on that garage door) is a true artist and talent.  It was a shock to come across this place in Congress, Arizona as Congress is what you would call a Podunk town.  I am not sure what the population is but it is one of those towns with a few Mom and Pop retail establishments, no grocery store within 25 miles, no McDonalds, no Starbucks. It’s most definitely rural.  We talked for some time and he showed me his home….I was floored.  It is filled with artwork (his own carvings) and done up in sophisticated Western style. He has many vintage cowboy items decorating the walls and I swear, that place was as nice as the Western Museum here in Prescott. He is such a cool man (and gracious) and deserves to make it big as he is super talented.

It’s one of the things that I love about Arizona: you never know when you will encounter a total surprise in your travels!
