“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” ~Plutarch
There is a very cool annual event here in Prescott called “Tsunami on the Square”, which was held this past weekend in the Courthouse Square. It’s a day long extravaganza and filled with everything from circus acts, belly dancers, stilt walkers, African drummers and fire dancers. This is one of the performers from Clan Tynker, a family, vaudeville-style circus, and one of the crowd favorites. Serendipity does not speak but she sure can eat a mean flame!
The image is pretty severely cropped and taken with my new D600, definitely a bonus of full frame. There are times when “getting it right in the camera” can be difficult with crowds, moving objects and high contrast lighting. (Side note-Except for weather, landscapes are pretty static, hence a bit easier to control so I find it ironic that I hear that admonishment most often from landscape only photographers.) Anyway, I have been shocked and awed by the clarity of the files. I hope the dust/oil issue does not hinder my love for the camera’s (and new lenses’) capabilities in the future!
