“‘Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone; All her lovely companions are faded and gone.”~T More

I love Autumn so the end of summer is only slightly bittersweet for me.  And I love bright, bold color in my images but also really enjoy creating something subdued and sweet by a bit of desturating and adding a high key look.

  1. I looooove this work, Maureen, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I’m impressed – how do you do this? It’s not only a matter of high key, is it? Do you reduce the contrast? How do you get this lovely colors?

  2. Hi, Dina! I use Lightroom for 80% of what I do.
I had to look at the original image to see what I did….it was darker and more vibrant. I played around with adding brightness, fill light, destaurating, adjusting the darks to make them lighter in tone curves, played around with the color sliders. Then I added a bit of texture (brushing out the vast majority in the flower itself) in an online program that I use just for that as I have no PS. That is about it, I believe. I am scary as I once had a request for an image and needed to replicate it and had a hard time doing that. As you might have guessed, I’m not what you’d call a Super Geek LOL
